Blagg noted that this year’s security plan will be different in light of recent flash mob thefts in California.
There are new safeguards in place,” Blagg proclaimed. According to Blagg, “we are highly capable” of closing the centres in terms of access within a minute or two after an alarm goes out.
Groups of young people, recruited by organised crime, are robbing stores across the country to resale the stolen products online. A rise in thefts has been reported by professionals and law enforcement as the holiday shopping season has begun.
A recent poll by the National Retail Federation found that both the frequency and severity of organised retail theft were on the rise.
